The twitches are back at it again, but this time, they're taking on Torey's Queen City: Charlotte, NC.
Day 1: We went to The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery for dinner and brews. The German atmosphere set in some nostalgia for Maddie, bringing her back to her study abroad days. For a starter, we ordered the house made hummus, and we HIGHLY recommend it! We both ordered German style "WÜRSTE"s, as one would expect at a German restaurant, but Chris played it safe with the Club sandwich (and heard Maddie's wrath). Chris and Torey ordered The Raddler, which is OMB's Capt Jack with a splash of Sprite, and were hit with a burst of inspiration. This weekend marked the birth of our greatest creation to date, The Twitch: a full Corona with a splash of lemon lime soda served with a slight head twitch. After dinner, we met up with some of Torey's friends for a casual bike ride through neighborhoods at night, or as some may call it, a Trolley Pub. You can choose between an UpTown route or a NoDa route. We chose the NoDa route since we didn't have a full crew, but we would do UpTown if we ever went again.
Day 2: Torey showed Maddie and Chris a little bit of Charlotte. You'll find out pretty quickly that iced coffees are a priority for the sisters, so Amélie's was the first stop (and you can't go to Amélie's without ordering a salted caramel brownie, amiright??). The rest of the day was reserved for the Florida Georgia Line concert, including a tailgate with Torey's school friends! Is there anything better than a country concert in the summer? (And yes I did say summer, because in typical Magee fashion, we are two months too late.)
