Saying Thank You with Basic Invite

Thank you to Basic Invite for sponsoring this post!

We cannot believe it's already the middle of March! Torey is already packing up and moving on to her next clinical and Ryan so delicately reminded me that I am almost in my third trimester- where has the time gone?!

One of the things on the "baby to-do" list that kept getting pushed back was definitely my thank you notes. My baby shower is in a couple of weeks and I desperately needed thank you cards. One of my biggest struggles was finding gender neutral ones because my husband SOMEHOW convinced me not to find out the gender of our baby and do you know how hard it is to find gender neutral yet adorable baby shower thank yous?! One of the features that I love most about the Basic Invite cards is that you can customize all of the colors- including envelopes! They have so many options too- with more than 180 colors for the card and then at least 40 colors for the envelopes I literally was able to create the exact gender neutral thank you I wanted and Torey picked out her simple yet adorable thank you notes that she needed for her birthday. The best part is as you're picking and choosing, you get a live preview with all the color swaps so that you know exactly how it's going to turn out.

They also have options that include foil prints which is what we did on our "She's Just My Sister" stationery and it's such a subtle yet feminine and delicate detail that we loved! It took a standard piece of stationery and added a little flare.

If you're working on a project that is a bigger deal than baby shower thank yous, Basic Invite also lets you order custom samples- just to double check. I truly wish I had found them when I was ordering my graduation or wedding invites because it was such an easy process and takes all of the stress away of messing something up.

P.S. I totally got sucked into looking through the picture graduation cards and the graduation thank you cards (some of my favorites are above) because the photographer side of me couldn't help myself and they have SO MANY cute layouts that aren't over the top. Definitely recommending them to my senior shoot clients.

Lastly, because I had personally never seen this on an invitation site, and then we promise we'll stop ranting about how great this stationery is, Basic Invite has a feature where you can share a link through social media to request family and friends' addresses and be stored in your account! I mean- does any one else have 57839 texts to go through when they start requesting addresses from friends and family?! When it comes time to order, you just simply select the recipients and all of the addresses are right there.

Anyway, if you are anything like us and appreciate a really wonderful piece of stationery, Basic Invite is offering 15% off with coupon code: 15FF51 so go check them out! They have something for every occasion and is just so customizable- it was truly a breath of fresh air to be able to mark it off my baby to-do list.

Easter Dresses

Dress: Anthropologie

Hi! Christine here! Spring and Easter has to be one of my favorite times of the year with all of the pastels and florals! It makes me so happy. I wanted to gather up some great Easter dress options! There are three panels below- one true maternity, one non-maternity but I think will fit a bump and then non-maternity that I was wishing would fit me right now but that's just not gonna happen.

Fun fact about this dress- I actually wore it to work yesterday but it inspired me for this post because I definitely put it on my Easter options. (Total disclaimer: I wore flats to work- heels only come out for special occasion (or apparently photos) these days.) It's not maternity but I think it will really fit the bump the entire time! I love that it makes me feel good and comfortable but also but together as this bump continues to grow! I can't find the exact one online but here are some similar options! (Here and here

Did you find a great spring outfit?! Please share in the comments below!

Dressing the Bump

Dress: A Pea in the Pod (also love this one)   |   Necklace: Kendra Scott   |   Sandals: Joie (50% off!)

So, guys, I'm gonna be honest with you on this one. Before I got pregnant, I thought dressing a bump would be seriously so fun and I couldn't wait to have all of these cute outfits showing off this growing little baby but let me tell ya, it's not all it's cracked up to be.

One the first hand, let's tackle the elephant in the room- or the elephants- the boobs. Yes, I knew they would grow but I mean no one tells you that you go up 2 cup sizes by 22 weeks? No? Just me-- great. Just in case there are women out there like me, growing boobs isn't all that fun. First off, all of my wonderful bras- couldn't fit into them if I wanted to so right now I'm alternating between three very generic- incredibly comfortable- bras. All of them are this one from Victoria's Secret that I highly recommend! They have truly saved me. I'm trying to embrace them (figuratively, not literally) but it makes getting dressed tough. I have stocked up on these tanks for undershirts to keep them contained in shirts that still fit otherwise.

Every day clothing- this category has definitely gotten more fun once I got passed the "oh, congrats! I thought you just had a big lunch" bump phase. Cute dresses like this one (and I have one similar to this) are amazing for weekends or going to dinner with Ryan. BUT, here's the thing. From bloggers I follow and such, so many people were said they bought non-maternity items and didn't go up a size and yet they fit. That was NOT the case with me. For a while, it made me sad and then just depressed because I felt like my old things were supposed to be fitting and EVERYTHING was just plain uncomfortable so I just let it go. Bottom line, turns out I have a body that just really has to be more in maternity wear (yay for shopping boo for my wallet) and everyone's body is different! I have been wearing maternity jeans since 6 weeks (huge thanks to my friend Taylor who literally gave me bags of clothes to borrow) and ya know what- they're so comfortable!

My biggest pet peeve even before I got pregnant was shirts that were too short and I just have to say if you're pregnant and looking for basic tees- you have to get these from Target! The price point is amazing, they wash great, not sheer and super comfortable and long! I'm off to buy 4 more- not a joke.

Business attire- so I work full-time at a university in their marketing department and unfortunately don't have a super flexible dress code. The good news is it's not like I'm a lawyer but business casual is a must. I am going to do just a post of that with outfits that I've been putting together that have been comfortable yet professional, really focused on a few staples so you don't have to spend tons of money on maternity clothes!

Do you have any advice dressing a bump?! I'll take anything you guys got!
